Why here

My brother and his family live in Fort Worth, so I visit at least once a year.

In Dallas

If you are a fan of American history, then you must check out the JFK Museum, set in the infamous school book depository, and the JFK Memorial. Entrance to the museum for an adult is $18, plus $5 for an audio guide. This is a self-guided tour that spends ample time talking about events leading up to JFK's presidency, his time in office, the assassination, the aftermath, and of course, the conspiracy theories.

I generally zip through museums, so it took me less than 1 hour to finish, but if you like to read every sign and listen to the audio guide in its entirety, it could easily take you a couple or more hours to finish. Outside of the museum is free to peruse, as this is where you will see the grassy knoll, and an up-close view of Elm St. You will like also encounter what often appears to be some "off the rocker" veteran who is all too willing to give you a free tour around the grassy knoll as he guides you through his personal conspiracy theory.

Exterior view of the JFK Dealey Museum formerly known as the Texas School Book Depository— The 6th-floor window is second from the top on the far right.

It all begins with an idea. Maybe you want to launch a business. Maybe you want to turn a hobby into something more. Or maybe you have a creative project to share with the world. Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference.

The same window but a view from the inside.

Stop by Bishop Arts District for a hipster-ish vibe. Grab an amazingly fresh (sliced right in front of your eyes as you order) and delicious beef brisket at Lockhart Smokehouse.

Coming from Chicago, I wasn't that impressed with their downtown, so I didn't spend much time exploring that.

In Fort Worth

Check out the Stockyards.

See the daily cattle herding or catch an actual rodeo in the evening.

If you'd like to bring a bit of Texas back home with you, stop by ML Leddys to buy a pair of handmade (custom if you want) cowboy boots.
